The slums of Cress are always rife with crime. Like any city's sore spot, people tend to complain but do little about the problem. Over the past several weeks however, criminal activity has almost quadrupled. The peculiar thing is that the various crimes (primarily robberies) seem coordinated. It's almost as if all of the low-class bandits, thugs, and outlaws have coalseced around a singular power. The local government is completely mum on the subject. In fact, from what you've heard, they're completely powerless in some sectors of the town, primarily the slums.
There are very few moral people left in this part of Cress. However, somehow word has gotten out that there's a contact inside the slums that's looking for help to deal with this problem. This person has been leaking information about the crimes to any trustworthy source. Some of it has been disturbing, and the information has been passed through so many people you're not sure what is, and what isn't true. What you do know, for certain, is that this contact has emerged and will be waiting in a back alley by a small storefront known as Djerko's Market. It may be your only chance to hear the truth about this massive spike in organized crime, and figure out how to go about stopping it.
