It was a dim day in the Spires, a thick blanket of clouds covering the sky above and blocking out all but the slightest rays of the sun, casting darkness over the land despite it being midday. Such weather was common in the north of the new world. The Spires were a particularly fearsome and extreme example, the landscape ran jutted with icey, dire spires. Despite the cold and harshities of the icebound land, life sprouted in the north. The chilly expanse eventually gave way to frozen forests, home to the animals and being hearty enough to call such a frozen hellscape home. And it was outside one such forest that local law enforcement had set up camp in their pursuit of a known Zoan criminal: Peltaro. The law enforcement outpost was meager: a few tents frosty with the northern air and a single campfire pit that was kept going out almost all hours of the day. The heavy scent of smoke hung in the air all around the camp, that wood-like smell that stuck to everything. Black-gray smoke lifted up into the air, making it clear where the camp sat on the edge of the forest. It would do no good to try and hide their presence; Peltaro always seemed to know when they were about anyway. The camp was manned by a few officers, most of them locals. All of them were human, strangely enough. In the new world, one might expect a more mixed grouping, but as it stood, only humans manned this force. Naturally ill-equipped for this cold, they were also up the frozen creek without so much as a paddle or ice breaker. None of them had the training or power to take on Peltaro, and now they were all stuck waiting for whatever bounty hunters or good Samaritans that might roll around. One such officer was Sui-Tong, a stocky, pale-skinned woman with dark, black hair and eyes to match. She sat sullenly by the fire, hands extended so that she might warm them, dressed in heavy gear made for the snow. The faux fur on her jacket tickled her cheek as she attempted to bury her head into it. She hated waiting around and she hated the cold. Ergo, this was her Hell. But Sui-Tong was determined to stick it out. She'd been involved in the Peltaro case from the beginning, and she was not about to bail out on account of some frost. No, she wanted justice. In fact, she was the one who had put out word about needing help with this outlaw. And now, all she could do was wait until help arrived. Red RockerYuki◥CXVII◤Okay, so you may all arrive on the scene in your own fashion. This is a little different from your standard thread, as you have laid out objectives. Remember, brevity is a virtue in many cases, in an effort to keep things easier on your fellow members and GM. That aside: have fun, guys!

Keeping the Peace Level: One OOC: I tried to keep it as short as I could without losing too much of my character's tempo. ‘Can you lower your heat output?’ Whined Fyer, the chibi, flame-haired AI that danced on CXVII’s HUD, ‘Not only are you a freaking beacon to any infrared detection — but you’re also melting all the snow we pass under! It’s getting the duffel bag wet!’
“Well for starters,” CXVII responded vocally, as the trudged through knee-deep snow towards the rendezvous, “I’m not going to lower my temperature; it’s freaking cold out here --”
‘YOU HAVE A COAT’
“Yeah, in the duffel bag.”
‘PUT IT ON!’
CXVII rolled her eyes, making use of a rather useful feature she had recently implemented — a mute setting on Fyer. Sure, it’d just make her angrier, but at least this way Samantha wouldn’t get nagged at. How was she supposed to explain the need to always look her best to an AI? How would others know that CXVII was better than them if they didn’t get to see her brazenly disregard the elements?
Regardless, the location was a camp was under a hundred yards away. A mission to help out the goodfolk for little compensation — or, in other words, CXVII was here for Public Relations. Bringing a wanted criminal to justice… Exactly the kind of crap the media would eat up while giving Sigma Corp a morale boost to the public eye.
Soon enough, the girl’s six-feet form reached the camp as to be within speaking distance.
“‘Noon, Ladies and Gentlemen.” Greeted CXVII, “This is unit one-one-seven. A proof-of-concept of Sigma Corp; I was instructed to come and give a helping hand. From what I understand there is some sort of outlaw that needs to be dealt with?”
As a beacon of heat, the woman approached Sui-Tong before dropping her duffle bag beside her. “A complementary set of supplies from Sigma. A few chemical hand warmers; soup-filled thermoses; survival gear and a bit of antifreeze — though that last bit is for me.”

Dill AKA Red Rocker was just in North City for an extremely rare part that he had been saving his money for. When he caught word of a Zoan bandit by the name of Peltaro that was giving the local police a hard time. Apparently the bandit was a competent martial artist. Dill knew that he had to stop this bad guy from hurting more innocent people. ‘What a perfect opportunity!’ Dill thought. ‘This will be a great first test of my Ki Suit!’ and with that reckless decision, the teen’s mind was made up.
He donned the red spandex Ki Suit over his frail body and zoomed off for The Spires. ‘Sorry mom’ the teen thought, ‘Looks like I’m going to be a little late’. This was the first time Dill had ever seen The Spires, it was a mixture of beautiful and frightening at the same time. The displays of ice were gorgeous, but there was something ominous about this place. Red Rocker pulled up to the forest he was directed towards and hopped off of the Green Machine, his trusty suped up jalopy.
The officers were a good indicator that he was at the right spot. He strolled up to the policemen and in his best superhero voice said, “Officers. How can I be of assistance?”. The young boy thought he looked cool, but in actuality he was a lanky runt in a funny costume. It would be a miracle if the cops took him seriously. This is when he would notice the blonde bombshell on the scene, he held his jaw to keep it from hitting the ground. It was hard to believe that he didn’t notice the woman earlier, she was rather hard to miss. The dorky teen would be blushing if it wasn’t for his darker complexion.

"Kid if you want to be taken seriously how about you don't go around in a stupid outfit. Your only embarrassing yourself." The young teen named Dill would hear a older sounding teenager talking bluntly from behind him. If anyone payed attention they could clearly see that it was Roja D. Yuki in a winter jacket with a scarf on. Yuki arrived at the camp sight just moments before the child did, but kept his Ki suppressed The entire time and even now. He didn't want the enemy to feel his Ki.
Recently, he heard about a criminal hiding out in this part of the northern world who has been giving the authorities trouble. He wouldn't have payed attention to it, but after coming to the realization that this criminal used Ki, he decided that it couldn't be ignored. So he got to the north as fast as he could, but he need to keep his Ki suppressed the entire time. If this. Bandit can us Ki then there was a chance that he might be able to feel out his so he wasn't gonna allow that.
"I don't think anyone else is coming so we can get started at anytime." He said to a nearby officer after waving off the costume wearing kid.

Perhaps because of the cold, the officers around the perimeter of the camp only gave a half-hearted greeting as the blonde android approached. The cold had a way of wearing people down, after all, dampening their spirits. But they were not unkind; one of the officers, a portly man wrapped up like a pig in a blanket, waved her into the camp.
As she approached Sui-Tong, the woman shifted turned her head ever so slightly to face the newly arrived robotic warrior-woman. She stared at the girl, dark eyes peeking out over the toffee colored fake fur that ringed her neck. Her eyebrows buckled as she looked at the girl, dark orbs darting between the girl and the pack she'd brought. Not what Sui-Tong had been expecting, not by a long shot, but at least the girl had come prepared. "Thank you," she said, "Any supplies go a long way out here."
Her head shifted as she put an ear to the sky, the sound of a certain old jalopy sputtering in the distance. "Sounds like more company," she muttered, "Good thing you brought those supplies."
---
The same portly officer that had waved CXVII into camp was now face to face with Red Rocker, would-be hero. He peered down at the kid, fleshy, red face with a large mustached, black and peppered with gray, in the center. He'd heard the truck coming and had stood at attention. But it was too his great surprise that a child had stepped out, and was not looking to help with their little outlaw problem. "Er," he began, stammering, "I think you might be a little outta yer element, kid. Not sure how much help you could be..."
Puffs of breathy fog floated from his face as he assessed the strangely dressed kid. Was this kid even old enough to drive? Did he have to give him a ticket? Questions swirled through his head, but before he could say anything, he was interrupted by the arrival of another: Yuki. And was this kid here to help or just to make fun of the other? Frowning, the officer waved his hand in the air. "Ugh," he groaned, "I guess beggars can't be choosers." He pointed towards Sui-Tong. "Go listen to her. She's in charge of this case."
---
Sui-Tong rose from the fire and moved towards the center of the camp, though slightly off, but not before once again nodding her gratitude towards the robotic Amazon. She cleared her throat, marred by cold, and began to speak in a booming, powerful voice, the mark of a true officer. "I see the cavalry has arrived!" She exclaimed, "And while it is not what we were expecting, far be it from me to turn away help. Now, you've all likely heard about this Peltaro from the info we've put out. Now, let me brief you in full: Peltaro, were it not for his mastery of the super-human martial arts, would be a non-issue. A single Zoan man, wolf type, somewhat stocky and short of frame. But it is because of his mastery of ki that he is dangerous. I've seen the aftermath of his work. He's ferocious. He has no regard for life or property that is not his own. Those of you who are going to pursue him ought to know that he's likely going to be out for blood once we close in on him."
She stood in silence a moment. "Now that that is out of the way," she announced, "Does anyone have any questions before we move out? We've got a bit of a walk before he make it to the camp we've tracked him too."
A little long on my part, yes, but as the group becomes unified and such, I think you'll find that my posts become much more expeditious as well.
As a note: it is a rule to state your level, as a player, when you enter a thread. In my case, as a GM, my own level has no bearing on the thread.

Cocking her head to the side, CXVII watched as two young boys made their wave over into the camp. She wasn’t sure what they were doing there — they hardly looked old enough to skip school on their own accord. Maybe it was their luck that these were police and not truancy officers. Her mouth opened for a moment as she was about to make a comment — she could probably bring them to school by force and get some ‘cred for that. That thought promptly vanished, however. It was possible that the public would only see that as Sigma Corp being nosy — always hard to anticipate how one’s actions would be perceived by the people or media.
She decided to keep her head-on-straight and focus on the task at hand. The Android’s arms came to fold over her exposed midriff, hands cupping around the opposite arm’s elbows. She had already begun recording the events of this mission — something necessary for both mission debriefing and for the advertisement crew. Hopefully, if she could get a few blasts off she could capture some good shots for whatever propaganda push would come out of this.
The heat emitting from her chassis didn’t lower as she waited, which caused a good deal of snow within a meter of the woman to meltdown while Sui-Tong gave her speech. CXVII made a mental note of this — avoid this spot after they move on, least she want to slip on reformed ice.
When the question regarding if they had any questions, CXVII rose her hand. The two red nano-coated scanners over her head twitching and turning as they scanned the area.
“How much resistance are we expecting?” She asked, “With that in mind, do we have a method of approach? Is this some kind of stealth approach? Are we operating with extreme prejudice? Or is this going to be shock & awe; are we expecting air support with danger close?”

“No- well I think I can help y- Huh?” Dill would say as he turned to face the incoming edge lord. “M-me?” Dill wasn’t the best in social situations, but he would try his best to respond to the cosplayer. “St-stupid outfit? B-but I need this suit. It’s my Ki Suit… well, the name is still a work in progress. You see it converts megawatts into ki and then channels it through the synthetic material and into my body amplifying my ki output by astounding levels! And...” he would have went on and on with the technical mumbo jumbo, but thanks to Officer Sui-Tong, he shut his mouth. To Yuki's relief, I'm sure.
The officer rose from the fire and started to give the group more details about the matter at hand. This Peltaro certainly sounded like a real monster... The zoan was definitely someone that had to be stopped, his rampage had to end here. A perfect first test for the Ki Suit! Despite his inner confidence, Dill couldn’t stop his legs from shaking underneath him. He hoped the others would just think he's cold. When he actuality he was quite warm. The ki pumping through the spandex suit kept his whole body warm. As well as giving him a fuzzy feeling.
But now it was question time as the officer gave the group free reign to ask anything on their minds. He opened his mouth, only to be cut off by the blonde bombshell. ‘Took the words straight from my mouth...’ the boy thought to himself as he glanced at the girl, trying not to stare too hard. “A-and you say this Peltaro is a proficient ki user? Are his attacks mostly melee based or does he have long range capabilities?” he asked, knowing this could help in their combat approach. He wasn’t sure of the other two and their abilities, but they looked like they could handle themselves. Hopefully this would be an easily mission and they could apprehend the criminal without much fuss. Wishful thinking.

Level 1 As Dill when on to explain how his suit worked, he would notice that the more serious teen was grabbing the bridge of his noise which showed clear signs of annoyance. Why did this guy think that he wanted a science lesson about his costume when he doesn't even care about it in reality? "Using technology to empower yourself and not training your present Ki to become stronger? How pathetic." Yuki scoffed rather bluntly as he turned his attention to Sui-Tong not caring about the socially awkward teen next to him. It was clear from the get go that Sui-Tong had the makings of a leader from how she presented herself and everything in between. The debriefing kept him well informed, but he couldn't help to take quick glances at the other two that he was being paired up with. If anyone looked at all three of them they could say that they were all quiet out of place to say the least. The lady with her bunny ear accessory and revealing outfit and the other teen who was a wanna be vigilante in the making who was probably about to chicken out judging by how his legs were noticeably shaking. But it was best not to point that out. "You rather we bring him in dead or alive?" Yuki asked bluntly as he stood behind the other two before addressing them. "We should come up with some sort of plan for this. This man may have the ability to sense Ki and if he does then that means he most likely knows we are here. But I have my Ki suppressed at the moment so he should be able to feel me out if he does have that ability. Maybe we can use the element of surprised, but I'm not sure of that because this kid most likely doesn't even know how to suppress his Ki let alone detect it." Tsuana

The questions rolled in. Sui-Tong nodded. They had every right to be curious, and she'd rather they ask question then not. "We're not expecting much in the way of resistance. Just Peltaro. But that's the issue. He's wily. Always seems to know when we're coming. Hell, I don't know how to explain. We've tracked him down to places and then heard about him commuting crimes on the other side of the region. It's like there's two of 'im, or he gets inside our heads."
She shook her head. "As for our approach? I'd prefer to keep things quiet. We go in, take him down, we come out. Preferably without turning the forest to ash. Doesn't look good on the reports when you have to tally up all that collateral damage to bring in one guy. So, in short, we're going in and out quietly, if we can help it."
Sui-Tong turned her tired gaze on Red Rocker, slightly smirking at the boy's suit. "As for his combat capabilities? As per my understanding, he's more than capable of performing both. One survivor claims Peltaro cleaved his truck in two with just one punch, and we have reports from officers in which he was seen using some sort of beam. Dark grey in color, if that makes a difference. I don't know much about this ki business," she said with a shake of her head, "And another thing: keep your eyes on the target. Not only is he a crafty guy, he's also demonstrated what appears to be considerable speed, possibly higher than what your standard civilian camera can track. There's one incident in which we recovered footage from a dash cam of a destroyed truck. In the footage, you can see Peltaro standing still in the middle of the road as the truck comes to a halt. And before you can blink, the footage shakes and you can see significant debris shower into view before the footage cuts out. And Peltaro never leaves the frame, he doesn't even seem to move."
And now she turned on Yuki, a serious grimace on her face, twisting and contorting it. "Alive, if we can manage it. Peltaro might not have such mercy, but we're not a death squad. If there's no other option, we might have to end his life. But, if we can, I would prefer to bring him to justice in one piece, as per standard."
She looked at each of them in turn.

CXVII had one last question to pose.
“I have no detectable ki.” Seven noted, “I’ve also got stealth capabilities; do you want me to scout ahead? If we approach with a small force we have fewer chances of being spotted; if we have someone able to get close enough without being detected then said person could stop him from fleeing while others fall-in.”

Dill ignored the stinging comments from Yuki and listened as all of their questions posed were answered one by one. Doubt crept into his mind, maybe he was getting himself in over his head? No! This is what he signed up for, his father wouldn’t red and neither would he! He listened to Seven’s last question and scratched his chin in thought. ‘Undetectable, aye?’ he thought. “We could set up a trap… I mean I can’t hide my ki like you guys can. But I’m probably faster than both of you thanks to her” he pointed at his Green Machine. Though she looks like hell, she was suped up to the T and hardly stuttered in the snow. “I could lure him to an ambush, assuming he would give chase...”.

"From what your telling us his combat prowess seems to be the basic norms of what a Ki fighter can do with enough training." Yuki commented while grabbing his chin in though of the information given to them. It wasn't abnormal for a Ki user to become inhumanly strong by using their Ki to enchant their current strength along with being able to move faster then a person can percept it. It was no wonder why the law enforcement was having trouble with this man. "But even so we can't let our guard down. This man may have some sort of hidden technique or ability that can turn the tides of a fight if his opponent is caught off guard." Yuki said in a serious tone to the others. "I agree. A ambush seems to be the best way to go. The lady and I can attack him from both sides quickly as a surprise attack using our stealth capabilities while he is trying to catch up to the kid." Yuki said forumualing a mini plan of action to the others. But he wasn't one hundred percent certain that it would work in their favor. When does anything to go plan really? Tsuana

Sui-Tong grimaced. If what Yuki said were true and that these all were indeed 'basic' skills of a ki user, it meant she was way out of her league.
But she shook her head, coming back to the present. "An ambush would be a good idea, but..." she muttered, "I'm loathe to use one of you as bait. Especially a kid." She regarded the boy wonder known as Red Rocker with a careful, almost parental gaze. A sour look came over her face, dark eyes glinting with disapproval.
"But," she said with a weary sigh, "I guess it's the best idea we've got." She had not planned for this. She had planned for a simple confrontation, but perhaps changing this into a pseudo-sting operation was for the best. Quickly, she rummaged through her own pockets and drew out a single, well-worn datapad. Mumbling to herself, she quickly tapped against the screen that was now stiff with cold, but it slowly came to life. She wasted no time in booting up a map and motioning for her hired deputies to gather around.
"This," she said pointing at the screen, "Is where we are now. As you can see by the markers on the map, Peltaro is a few miles out and in the forest. A hard spot for a truck to maneuver, but it sounds like you know your way around that thing. You swing by, he'll probably perk right up thinking you'll be an easy score. Then, he gives chase and you lure him into our trap."
She tapped the screen again. "Here," she said sharply, "Would be a good place for it. There's a clearing in the woods there, ringed by trees. We hit him there and it leaves us plenty of room for the ensuing scrap."
She looked at each. "Any other ideas, or do you think we're good to go?"

Seven kept relatively quiet through the ordeal, through her heat emission had come to a half. If she was going to engage in a stealth approach she should lower her heat, least she’d be a beacon in any infrared sensors.
The true challenge would be masking her core — her torso, to be exact; that part was still mostly organic, meaning it was susceptible to the standard 98.6 degrees. Nonetheless, she would get it to about as low as she could. Soon enough, a vague hint of shivering could be seen from the woman.
“My ki can't be sensed. Assuming this criminal can sense ki it’s possible he’ll feel the other boy coming. If that’s the case he’ll feel as though he anticipated a flank — that’s when I’ll come through.” CXVII concluded. It was another possibility, though there was far too many variables to account for — whatever was going to happen could very well not fit the bill of anything anticipated.
Whenever — if soon — the group set out Samanta would stealth herself up before trekking much deeper into the icy biome.
Assuming the group sets off within the next round of posting, Samanta will be stealthing now.

Red Rocker was touched by Sui-Tong’s concern and couldn’t help but think about how furious and concerned his own mother would be. It made him feel bad. But he pushed that aside, this was just something he had to do. He felt that he had a calling. And one less bad guy off the streets was a big accomplishment. “You don’t have to worry about me, miss. I signed up for this” he said with a smile and genuine appreciation.
Dill huddled around to watch the game plan explained via the datapad’s screen. It seemed like a good plan. Better than rushing in to face Peltaro head on. With a “Good to go!” Red Rocker would hop atop his speeder and prepare to take off. The engines would slowly whirl to life. If everyone was ready, Dill would take off into the forest to draw out Peltaro and execute the plan.
